Frodo/Sam

Trolling in blogland

I came across this just now.

My favorite bit from the original post is here:

Putting down editors and writers also displays a lack of knowledge about this industry.
Romance is the most successful genre of all time because people have banded together
with a collective consciousness to do good not evil. This is true camaraderie. I
hope it continues or we will perish.

I love that asserssion that romance writers are fighting evil. It makes me feel less bad about those days when I want to write, say, Luna/Peeves smut. Because, really, if it has a happy ending, then that's one less point for Voldemort... or something.

I was going to address other points about that post, but I've been cold-cocked by that phrase about fighting evil.

Eek!

Stuff and things.

Note to whoever cares: I'll be in Richmond, Virginia, for two weeks. I leave out on Wednesday, November 1 and don't return until November 15. So if anyone would like to meet up, please, by all means, let me know in the comments.

Secondly, the really sad thing for me about the latest Snape wank over on Fandom Wank is that I knew people that were like that in RL. [info]sweetstephanie and I shared an apartment for a month with a guy who honestly believed that he was channeling Roland from Stephen King's The Dark Tower books. His girlfriend actually chastized [info]sweetstephanie for making fun of his beliefs. But, since she was a first-class twatwaffle herself, I'm not sure why we listened.

Thirdly, I have put in an application to [info]hogwarts_elite. This was Tuesday, and I have been checking [info]sorting_elite obsessively to figure out when they're going to drop the application. I'll find out whether or not I made it while in Richmond, I'm sure, but for some bizarre reason known only to me, I will be very sad if they don't at least let me in.

Lastly, the online poker site at which I've become addicted inexplicably won't let me play. This will cause withdrawals and crying jags.

Eek!

Today's "duh" moment.

OK, so there's a guy out there on the Internet who basically has creeped me
out by being a troller and cyberstalker. The moderator of an online RPG I
play on knows that I find this guy creepy to the point that I considered
leaving the list we were on together. Yet apparently, it totally just
slipped her mind to notify me that the gentleman in question was on the list
and that I should be aware of that.
Not that I needed further proof that this woman was a raging hypocrite.
Eek!
